For the article of MLK, there was a comment left by The Realist. I really liked that last few sentences of their comment because it said to not go out and find a leader, but to become one. MLK became a leader for a much needed change in our country. He didn't sit there and wait for a leader to come up out of the ashes, but instead he said that America needed change because he did not agree with what he was seeing in the modern society at the time.
Very important point -becoming a leader. I think you could be one too! Thanks (anne)
This post is from January 2011 issue of FLYING Magazine that I where I came apon the article titled Stay Ahead: 15 Ways to Improve Your Flying. I'm not going to summarize all of the ways, but there are a few that stood out to me that I thought I'd share. The author states to give the autopilot system a rest because a pilot needs to retain muscle memory of how to handle the airplane manually. Another way is to think ahead of the airplane. This way a pilot can be ready for any issues that may occur while in flight or on the ground. My favorite is to use checklists. It keeps things organized and helps the pilot make sure that they have done everything that is required of them to keep the plane flying.
I just read an article about the end of the Space Shuttle program. It's stating that America will have to rely on Russia for the next 5 to 6 years just to get us into space. America isn't ready to retire the shuttles. Without them, it's really hard to get large items into space and deliver them to the International Space Station. NASA's proposed new spacecraft, SpaceX, is actually a step into past spacecraft history. America needs to stand up and support our Space Shuttle program.
